Watch the video to learn what it means to be walking together.
I choose to walk together, learning to listen and look, making it an everyday practice.
I choose to walk together. Reflecting and interrogating my own story and my own Culture.
I choose to walk together, seeking answers from within, because the answers are within me.
I choose to walk together like Rebecca. And with Connie, Mac, Eugene, Jesse and the wider family. Walking together in love and acceptance towards Indigenous brothers and sisters.
I choose to walk together with Nan Brenda, Pop Gary and my brothers and sisters, in love, acceptance and forgiveness for our white brothers and sisters. And extending that to our brothers and sisters of all Nationalities.
I choose to walk together, protecting my heart from offence.
I choose to walk together, acknowledging when I’m still carrying the trauma, hurt and pain from my past story.
I choose to walk together, carrying my story with respect and honour, contributing knowledge which helps us to understand that knowledge isn’t power, but responsibility.
I choose to walk together, respecting each other’s cultures, and understanding that they are not wrong way, just different way.
I choose to walk together in humility. Humbling myself before others every day.
I choose to walk together and be an advocate for love, truth, acceptance and forgiveness. That my house will be a home that invites others in, so that they don’t feel like an intruder in my house.
I choose to walk together, carrying and reflecting the healing story.
Home is where the heart is, but where is home when it doesn’t look and feel like home?
